Tours
Chiang Mai and its environs is the perfect place for cycle touring. Some people come to Thailand with saddlebag, panniers and then just take off. That’s one way of doing it for the more adventurous. Others like fully supported tours, with hotels booked, routes planned and a backup service of a following vehicle. Off course in Thailand this is not an expensive option but the degree of service offered by the various companies in Chiang Mai (or Thailand) leaves a lot to be desired. However, there is some help available.
CycleChiangMai can help you organise a tour of whatever type you want. We work with a registered tour guide (a legal requirement in Thailand and a lot of the providers ignore this aspect). Any tours are tailor made for you. You want 6 long days? Fine! You would rather have 6 short days and opportunities to sight see? No problem! We can find cheap accommodation from 400 baht a night to luxury hotels at 5000. Our tour guide and driver has worked with cyclists for 20 years and he speaks perfect English, so no problem there. We can find hire bikes, MTB or road (road bikes are sparse and a bit difficult to get hold of) and we can organise routes on road, off road, in the mountains or on the flats. We’ll even come on the tour with you if you like!
If you just want a driver and nothing else, then contact Jac direct: Jakrapan Saengpayom, tel- 081 3877904; email- jackguidethai@gmail.com; TAT licence number- 23-0036
There are amazing sights to see in Thailand’s north. Many different temples, tribal villages, mountain scenery and so on. In addition where else can you ride all day and then find a welcoming massage at your hotel or nearby? Where else can you find such a variety of healthy fresh fruit and vegetables.

Hi,
We are four guys from Finland who are coming to Thailand in march. We will bicycle four weeks, maybe we are starting from Chiang Mai. Do you will recommend us some routes (self guided) with interesting sightseeings? We are not professional, but some hills can be included!
And maybe we are renting bicycles. Can you make an offer, please? If we are cycling from Chiang Mai to Bangkok, is it possible to give back the bikes for example by train?
HI Guys: We’d welcome you here in March. There’s a lot of cycling to do in Northern Thailand. Northern Thailand can be quite mountainous so you’d have to include hills on your trip. Are you riding Mountain bikes or road bikes? Do you need a driver or are you carrying your own stuff? Quite easy to organise a tour for you but please give us much more details. Type of bikes? Distance per day? Hi end spas or low end guest houses? You can always email me directly on ianfra9@gmail.com Happy to help!
